Nikki Mason
Name some artists that have influenced you: My current art has been influenced by Dr. Minette Riordan, Ali Manning, and Andrea Chebeleu. Other artists that have inspired me are my mom, my grandpa, Vincent Van Gogh, and Pablo Picasso.
Share an artistic accomplishment you are proud of: I teach art to my team at work as team-building every month or so. I have one member that always said they are not an artist or aren’t creative. After several projects, they’ve finally said “I can do art and I am creative.”
Why do you teach art? I teach art because I have enjoyed being creative since I was little and want to share my passion with others. I love seeing a person’s face, whether a child or an adult, when they have finished their piece of art and can find joy and happiness in their creation.
Nikki moved with her family from New Orleans to the Seattle area in 2016. She has a Master’s in Art Administration and currently serves as an art docent in the Issaquah School District. She enjoys working in many art mediums including acrylic paint, watercolor, pen and ink, mixed media, printmaking, bookmaking, as well as paper and fiber arts.
