Mick Holsbeke
Clown
Bio: Mick is a world-renowned clown with a ravenous appetite for the ridiculous. He was an original cast member in the 2018 re-opening of the Teatro Zinzanni and has performed in the Cirque du Soleil in Malta, École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal, and the Hangar des Mines in France. This year he is launching The Clown Garage, a local school for all things clown.
On getting unstuck: “I find something that makes me laugh, and strive to get back in my body. I might add costume element like glasses, or find a prop that inspires me. If that doesn't work, it’s time to take a nap.”
On connection: “My community stretches across borders. Locally, I roll with folks in the arts & culture, circus, vaudeville, music, and burlesque scene. Internationally, the majority of my creative community is connected through contemporary circus, clown, and street theater networks.”
On teamwork: Mick will be joining fellow tour participant Milenko Matanovic, whose home has a magical garden. Keep an eye out for a rogue garden gnome…
